Bioengineering/Biotechnology Careers Panel and Networking Event

When: Thursday, March 4, 6-8pm:
Where: CSEB B17

Please join us for a panel discussion of career paths in bioengineering and biotechnology.  Alumni and HR professionals from a variety of biotechnology and medical device companies will be on hand to discuss their career paths and answer your questions.  After the panel, there will be an informal networking event with light refreshments.

Panelists will include professionals from Synthes Spine, BD, Human Genome Sciences, and BrainScope, Inc.

Freshman-Sophomore Mixer

This is just a reminder that December 7th is the Freshman-Sophomore mixer in the Hodson Hall First Floor Lobby from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a really good opportunity to get to know some of the other students and the professors in your department.  There will be food and a game of professor trivia to see who knows the most about our dear Chemical Engineering Department Professors! So take a break from your last day of class to have a little fun and meet some new people!

 

Nolan's Pub Night

December 3 is the AIChE/SBE sponsored Pub Night at Nolan's from 9:00 pm to 12! We will have our first ever annual ChemE trivia game. There will be prizes, food, and beer for those over 21! Teams for ChemE trivia consist of 3 people and the first 30 people to sign up will get a free drink ticket (over 21, of course). So come, relax, and have a little fun. It's the last weekend before reading period, after all! Hope to see you all there!

Hey everyone! Here's what's coming up in the next week and a half.... Hope to see you all out there!

1) Fall BBQ [Behind Maryland Hall, Tuesday 10/20, 11:30am-1:15pm]
Just checked the weather and its should be in the mid-60s and sunny skies, so we should be good.  Free BBQ food!  Burgers, hot dogs, and other stuff?  Vegetarian options will be available.

2) ChemE Car Team Meetings [Maryland Hall Rm 321, Tuesday (10/21)  8pm & Friday (10/23) 6pm]

3) General Body Meeting [Room TBD, Tuesday 10/27, 8pm]
AIChE/SBE will have a general body meeting to introduce members to the wide range of benefits of being a National AIChE member.  Benefits include industry-recognized safety certification classes, large online electronic library, online training/info programs, and even assistance in job searches.  In addition, a representative from Microsoft will be attending to do a short demo of Windows 7 and distribute gift cards that can be used to receive a discount for purchasing Windows 7.

1) Graduate School Panel
Charles Commons Ballroom B, 12-1pm
Food will be provided
Come learn about the graduate school application process from the graduate students of our very own department and a representative from the career center as they share their experience and give tips.  There will be an opportunity for the graduate students to field questions.
**DO NOT ADVERTISE TO SOPHOMORES DUE TO CLASS CONFLICT**

2) Mentorship Info Session
Remsen 101, 7-8pm
Food will be provided
Learn more about AIChE/SBE Mentorship program where students of all years have the opportunity to work closely with students of the other years.  Sign-ups will be available at this meeting.

3) ChemE Car Info Sessions
