A big shoutout to the 11 members from our chapter who attended the national student conference in Nashville, TN.
Special thanks go to William Bagdorf and Krystina Laucik for hosting a workshop on "Maintaining Well-Balanced Chapter Operations." Also, congradulations to Sarah Schrier and Ranjini Krishnamurthy, who won 1st and 2nd place respectively in their categories at the National AIChE Conference on Monday! This is the second year in a row the dept had winners at the national poster session.
Sarah took 1st place in the Materials Engineering and Sciences for her poster on "De novo design of peptide-calcite biomineralization systems." Ranjini received 2nd place for a poster in the Food, Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology category and my poster title was "The Effects of a Stiffer ECM on Cancer Cell Motility".
Good work guys!

Ricky Meyer's Day of Service
Tuesday, 29 September 2009 23:07
AIChE/SBE
Hey All,
Just a friendly reminder that this Saturday is the annual Ricky Meyer's Day of Service. We will have vans picking up people in the MSE circle on Saturday at 7:30 a.m. to take you to there.
It's free and you get breakfast and lunch. Yes, it's early, but its really fun and we will bring you back to campus by 1:30 p.m. Two years ago we helped fix up a park and last year we worked with power tools and drilled address plaques on houses. If you'd like to be a part of it, and haven't already done so, please email an RSVP to Amanda Cardona (acardon2).
Hope your week is going well!
