About AIChE/SBE
The Johns Hopkins Chapter of AIChE/SBE is a professional academic group that combines both the American Institute of Chemical Engineers with the Society for Biological Engineers.
AIChE/SBE is open to any student interested in learning more about either chemical or biological engineering and who, in turn, is looking to benefit from our events and activities.
AIChE/SBE is devoted to helping its members by exposing them to our resources and helping to establish relationships amongst other students and faculty.
This academic school year, our motto is Participate! Connect! & Grow!
Participate!
- As a member, you will be a part of both social and industrial events that connect you as a student to your peers, upperclassman, department’s faculty, and the outside world.
- Some of our popular events include: Q&A Panels with Guest Speakers, Facility Tours with Top Companies, Industry Workshops to help develop professional skills, Game Nights and many more!
Connect!
- As a member, you will have many opportunities to meet professionals and network. Some of the industries we plan to host this year include (but are not limited to): W.R. Grace, Exxon Mobil, Becton Dickinson & Company (BD), Merck & Co.
- You will also be able to connect with your fellow peers and faculty through our frequent social events.
- A NEW Mentorship Program will also be offered to any AIChE/SBE member who is interested in participating!
Grow!
- Grow Your Resume by gaining leadership positions in AIChE/SBE and getting involved!
- Grow As An Engineer through our workshops and hands-on interaction. Networking and meeting potential employers early is also a huge plus!
- Grow As An Individual by stepping outside the classroom to learn not only Chemical Engineering skills but also your own potential!
