Chemicals will NOT be provided by Johns Hopkins University. Hydrogen gas and deionized water will be available on site, but teams will be responsible for purchasing and arranging for safe delivery of the chemicals and quantities they need for their own participation.
Do not attempt to bring chemicals or ChemE Cars on public transportation.
Chemicals should be shipped directly from the chemical vendor rather than from the student contestants. Some university chemical stockrooms may be able to package and ship chemicals to the conference site, but this would need to be done in accordance with DOT and other regulations. Shipment of ChemE Cars is optional.
All materials need to be received between March 29 and April 14, 2010.
Once your chemicals and/or car have been shipped, you must send a confirmation email to William Bagdorf at

with the package information.
Shipped cars will be availble to participants on Friday, April 16 by appointment or Saturday, April 17 at the start of the ChemE Car Poster Session / Safety Inspection. Chemicals will not be made available until 2pm on Saturday, April 17.
Teams should send only the minimum amount of material (i.e. no more than is required for 5 runs). Any chemicals remaining at the end of the competition will be designated as hazardous waste and disposed of properly by Johns Hopkins University.
